Public Protests on Hussain Auction at NY Mar 18, 2008
On 18th March 2008, Christie-a leading Art Action House in NY managed to sell Hussain's Painting at $ 1.4 million. The controversy did not leave Hussain in NY also and around 20-30 protestors (mostly from Indian origin) expressed their protest. The protesters demanded Christie no to oversee transaction of any of the Husain paintings. However, the spokesperson of Christie Art Auction House Sara Fox rejected the demand.
